Single Touch Payroll is a government initiative to streamline business reporting obligations. Employers will need to report payments such as salaries and wages, pay as you go (PAYG) withholding and super information directly from their payroll software at the same time they pay their employees.
Employers with 20 or more employees have already been required to comply with STP provisions.
Small employers with 19 or less employees will need to report through STP any time before 30 September 2019.
Employers with 4 or less employees will have additional options.
