Consumer Affairs Victoria today released an alert warning businesses to be on the lookout for internet banking scams. This alert comes as a result of a business recently falling victim to such events.
It is advised by Police to ensure any requests you receive via email for bank account changes are always confirmed with the business that such changes are correct. If you happen to receive an email from a supplier or other company you regularly make payments to, call the business to confirm before simply making further payments to them.
